Now the Olympics are getting down to business. Badminton, Table-tennis, track and field, and more. At these games, in order to watch the various events, you have to watch it on a channel from another country in their language. Can't understand them but the action is still exciting.

Wow! What a night for the American tag swim team in the 100 meter. This performance was late at night and with all of the excitement of winning, it was hard to get to sleep. This is a very historic Olympics. Tune in, more tonight.

Republican Women of North Texas: Our First Meeting

Wednesday, August 6, 2008 the Republican Women of North Texas had their first meeting and the officers were sworn in by our State Representative of the 98th District, Vicki Truitt. From left to right: Jen Collins (Secretary), Peggy Rahall (Treasurer), Teresa Rutherford (President), Paula Mabry (1st Vice President-Programs), Debbie Vinson, (3rd Vice President-Campaign Activities & Fund Raising), and Karen Chidiac (2nd Vice President-Membership). There were approximately 35 all new members in attendance amid BBQ and GOP fanfare along with County Commissioner Gary Fickes and Mrs Doug Newton with Rocky Top Therapy Center (location of the Republican Roundup September 27 next month). Congratulations to you gals and good luck.
